Luca Vitone’s exhibition Eternity is extended to 7 June. Premise for a trilogy. The finissage with a talk and the presentation of the catalogue will be held on Saturday 7 June. A special opportunity to visit the exhibition accompanied by the artist and the curator.

During the evening Fausto Chilò and Daria Carmi will speak in dialogue with Luca Vitone and Francesca Guerisoli. Chilò is a member of the Board of Directors of the Buzzi Unicem ETS Foundation and Treasurer of the Mesothelioma Team-Italy Foundation (MET.I). Born in Casale Monferrato in 1970, he experienced first-hand the period when the dangers of asbestos cement emerged publicly. His testimony will offer a personal look at both the collective memory and the impact of that season on the Casale community, as well as an opportunity to recount his commitment to the fight against diseases caused by asbestos.

Daria Carmi works in curating and cultural design in the field of visual art, exploring its transformative potential in urban and social contexts. Since 2019, she has been project manager at Carmi e Ubertis studio in Milan, where she oversees complex projects for cultural and social institutions. Among the various positions held, she was technical councillor for Culture, Tourism and Youth Policies at the Municipality of Casale Monferrato, where she promoted territorial enhancement projects. In this context she met Luca Vitone, who took part in the public art project in 2015 dedicated to the creation of a monument dedicated to the fight against asbestos. Since 2016, she has been curator of the contemporary art collection of the Fondazione Casale Ebraica where, in 2023, she curated an exhibition of Vitone’s works on the theme of asbestos.

The evening will also see the presentation of the volume Per l’eternità. Premise for a Trilogy, published by Allemandi, which includes critical texts by Francesca Guerisoli and Marco Scotini and a text by Luca Vitone. The book is divided into two parts: the first presents the current exhibition at Fondazione La Rocca; the second is dedicated to the trilogy of olfactory sculptures conceived by Luca Vitone to investigate the different faces of power through the sensory dimension of smell.

Event with free admission and reservation required.
